Bed & breakfast style guest room makeover

We don't have many guests stay with us on the regular. To be honest, most of them stay to watch Leo when we are away!

But, with the soon-to-be birth of our baby girl this summer, we knew we needed to cozy-up our guest room just in case we sought late-night help!

The decor in this room was inspired by this beautiful Queen Anne dresser. LOOK AT THIS BEAUTY! She was a Facebook Marketplace find last summer and had been beautifully dressed up by a local artist. I fell in love with the fabric sides and painted draws. If this piece doesn't invoke calmness, then I don't know what does!

We had been gifted a large antique hutch from Bobby's family, so I decided to make that a guest's comfort haven. I added your usual staples, cotton balls, towels, q-tips, etc. But decided to go the extra mile with luxurious soaps, lotions, lavender fabric sprays, etc., all from Marshall's of course!

Last but not least- we needed a headboard. The back of the bed was so BLAH. We had done shiplap in our bedroom, so I wanted to switch things up.

One afternoon we headed to Riverhead,Long Island to "The Red Barn" which has a collection of salvaged pieces. I had no idea what I was looking for, but knew they would have an abundance of options.

We immediately fell in love with these two windows. One was green/blue, the other white. The windows weren't identical, and we toyed with the idea of it looking "weird" or not- but quickly decided that eclectic (my style) is in fact weird, and I LOVE IT.

We brought our new treasures home, cleaned them up, and luckily for us- they already had existing brackets!

And that was it! They went up like BUTTA! I love their uniqueness and wouldn't change them for the world! The colors went so well with our Walmart bedspread and accent pillows too. All linked here (along with those cage lights for our fan- another DIY). Now tell me, would you feel comfortable and at peace sleeping here- even with a crying baby in the house?!
